The Big West Conference has awarded Big West Men’s Basketball Coach of the Year honors every season since 1977-78. Jerry Tarkanian is the coach who has won the award the most times (seven), followed by Bob Thomason (five). The programs with the most awards are current member UC Irvine and former member UNLV (seven each), followed by Pacific (six), Utah State, UC Santa Barbara and Long Beach State (five each). Parenthesis indicate number of awards for that coach or school.
